MONDAY. MONDAY

We had a pretty sunset tonight at 3:15. I took this picture out
the window of the jeep with my daughter. We are coming into the
time of year when it gets harder to roust yourself out of bed in the
morning. We didn't wake up until 7:30--boy were we running!

Today I made a Pumpkin Roll to see how long it would take
me and how much the ingredients would cost so I can offer
them to customers. The trick is getting the thin sponge cake
flipped out of the pan onto the towel without tearing it to shreds.
It wasn't too hard and I just used the recipe that is on the inside
of the Libby Pumpkin Can label w/cream cheese frosting.

Next I want to try making Chocolate Rolls with branches. First I
have a large order to fill for a Christmas bazaar this Friday--fun, fun!

That pumpkin roll looks really good. I couldn't figure it out at first, I thought it was a real snow covered log. :-D

3:15 sunset would be tough to get used to. I've always wanted to make a roll cake of some kind, but figured I'd never get that cake out in one piece. I would probably be better off to buy one. Chocolate rolls with branches? What do you mean?

Oooooh! Pumpkin rolls are my very favorite food in the whole world! I use oiled parchment paper in my pan and then I can lift it out easily to put it on the towel. I haven't ever iced the outside of mine to look like a log - yours is beautiful! I think I need to do a little pumpkin-y baking today.....:)

Hmmmm . . . I've never braved a jelly roll before (so much work for something that isn't healthy), but with the addition of pumpkin the health factor increased. : D Beautiful! I am always inspired when I come to visit you. (And I usually leave hungry!)

LOVE, love, love the bald eagle pic! I have only seen one in my life. While dining at a beautiful riverside mill restaurant on Prince Edward Island, I looked up and saw the beauty of a soaring bald eagle! I shall NEVER forget it! We have some sort of brown eagle that soars just as magestically (saw one yesterday while sippin tea on the deck) but the lack of white head does make a diference in the appearance. Someday I hope to see your territory -- simply BEAUTIFUL!!!!
