ATV'S ON THE MOUNTAIN

Everyone in town keeps a close eye on the road up the mountain behind us to see if the
Forest Service has closed it to vehicles and opened it up to ATV and snow machine riding.
There is a lot of snow up there, so this weekend they opened it up and my husband took
the 2 girls and Babcia up for a couple of hours.

The snow was too deep to go beyond the first of 3 gates and then it was getting dark, but
they had a blast! That is my 70 year old, apartment in the city dwelling, Polish 5 foot 4 inch
mother in law in the survival suit in the middle. She rode on the back of my husband's quad.

I stayed home, kept the fire going (read:stayed warm & dry) and made pancakes.

That looks like sooo much fun. I'd love to try it; it's a shame it doesn't snow here in Melbourne.

When can I come to Alaska?

Kirstin--thank you for the nice words about the blog. I am so glad you stopped by!

Pam--yes of course you can visit and when people smell the cabbage I will be pointing at you.

Kate--Thank you so much for the nice blog award --I appreciate it very much.

You can come visit anytime, but I recommend summer as the weather is very good and there are tons of things to do, like fishing and running away from bears.

So...how about Australia? When is the best time to visit there?
