- Rainy days at school meant playing "Hangman" or "Heads Up 7-UP" in the classroom
- "Work" meant doing the dishes or taking out the garbage
- "Race issues" meant arguing about who could run the fastest
- Money issues were handled by the kid who was the banker in "monopoly"
- Being old meant anyone over 20

- Decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-mo"
- Catching fireflies for the whole evening and not getting tired of it
- Homemade ice cream from a hand cranked ice cream maker

- Tractors with huge iron lugs that would tear up farm roads
- The steam train coming to town and the race to see if you could beat it, while trying to avoid the black cinders from the smoke that would fall on your Sunday School white shirt
- The local Civil War vets
- Memorial Day parades with the WWI veterans marching in their puttees
- Outdoor silent movies
- Black face minstrel shows

On another note, we watched 1000 places to see before you die, last night. Alaska was featured and I loved it...how blessed you are to live there!
I remember everything on the first list. Butch wax was to make your crew cut stand up straight. Now it's called hair wax or something but it's the same thing. See the punk rockers didn't come up with anything new.
I had PF flyers I think, I know my brothers did. I wanted PF flyers, did I get PF Flyers or just want them. I don't remember.
How about having the milk man bring milk to the door in a glass bottle with cream on the top that you fought your little brothers for.
