mother-in-law brought some natural salve made from honey with her from Poland that she had been
given by the hospital when her mother was bed ridden and was developing bed sores. It was amazing
how fast wounds healed after using it. Of course, you should always consult your medical doctor for
any serious illness or injury. Here are a variety of uses for honey:
MINOR BURNS
Apply over minor burns. It cools, removes pain and aids fast healing without scarring.
Bacteria cannot live in honey, so it may ward off infection too. (I have used this many
times in our family and it works wonderfully)
BED WETTING
A teaspoon of honey before bed aids water retention and calms fears in children.
SLEEPLESSNESS
A teaspoon of honey in a mug of hot milk aids sleep (honey shouldn't be given to babies
under 1 year old)
NASAL CONGESTION
Place a spoon of honey in a basin of hot water and inhale fumes after covering your
head with a towel over the basin. Very effective!
MINOR WOUNDS OR SCRAPES
Cover wound with honey and bandage. Excellent healer.
FATIGUE
Dissolve a teaspoon of honey in warm water or 1 part honey to 4 parts water and
keep in the refrigerator. Honey is primarily fructose and glucose so it is quickly
absorbed by the digestive system. Honey is a unique natural stabilizer. Ancient
Greek athletes took honey for stamina before competing and as a reviver after
competition.
FACIAL CLEANSER
Mix honey with oatmeal 1/2 and 1/2 until thick and apply as a facepack. Leave
on for half an hour and wash off with lukewarm water. Great as a deep cleanser.
POOR DIGESTION
Mix honey with apple cider vinegar approx. 1/2 and 1/2 and dilute to taste with
water. This is also said to be excellent for the joints.
HAIR CONDITIONER
Mix honey with equal quantity of Olive Oil and cover head with a warm towel for
1/2 hour, then shampoo. It feeds the hair and scalp--your hair will never look better!
SORE THROAT
Let a teaspoon of honey melt in the back of your throat and trickle down. Alternately,
mix honey to taste with fresh squeezed lemon juice. Sip slowly from spoon until finished.
STRESS
Honey in water is a stabilizer--it calms highs and raises lows. Use approx. 25 percent
to water.
ANEMIA
Honey is a great blood enricher. The darker the honey the more minerals it contains.
OSTEOPOROSIS
Research has shown that a teaspoon a day aids calcium utilisation which may help
prevent osteoporosis.
LONG LIFE
One common fact worldwide is that the most long-lived people are regular users of
honey. An interesting fact yet to be explained is that beekeepers suffer less from
cancer and arthritis than any other occupational group worldwide.
MIGRAINE
Use a teaspoon of honey dissolved in half a glass of warm water. Sip at the start of
an attack. If necessary, repeat in 20 minutes.
CONJUNCTIVITIS
Honey dissolved in equal quantity of warm water and apply when cooled as lotion
or eye bath.
COUGH MIXTURE
6 ounces liquid honey
2 ounces glycerine
Juice of 2 fresh lemons
Mix well, bottle and keep firmly covered or corked. Use as needed.

I see a few things I need honey for :)
Gonna try some of these!
I always keep a large jug of honey on the shelf. I just learned this year how to make creamed honey and I am going to try it this summer. Kris
